Blues Brothers Aint Gonna be Happy

November 12, 2008

Even though the Blues Brothers got David Lowrie as the new President of the BGCT/TBC, in no time short they will find something esle to complain about. It is built into the mission statement of their “call” to complain and gripe about just anything in the Building.

I have suggested to David Montoya, that he and Rick Davis er Dr. Rick Davis, go on the road with their Blues Brothers show. They could get a trailer and have it all painted up with thier pictures on the side with the dark sunglasses, fedora and a big black Bible. Wow, how cool would that be? Then they could hit the road with their evangelism trailer. David could do his karate thingy, maybe break a few bricks from the Baptist Building with his head (could knock some sense into him) and chop up what is left of Charles Wade’s desk. He could line up the staff of the BGCT/TBC and break boards held in their hands, oops, did he miss one on purpose and smash Wayne Shuffield’s head?

As a crowd gathers around for the “really big show” (say it like Ed Sullivan), then coming up from cloud of smoke would be Dr. Rick Davis.  With a huge Bible in one hand and several of his favorite philosophy books on a cart behind him, he would begin to “preach” and pontificate. He would use words, most folks have never heard before. The eyes of the crowd would begin to glaze over and people would fall over as if slain in the spirit, but alas it is in the spirit of Davis they have been put to sleep.

To close out the event, they could take up an offering with the black fedoras and say they on are on a mission from God to weed out the corruption in the “Building”. People would shout Amen and dig deep into their wallets and give generously. After the prayer, they would all gather for coffee and listen to Dr. Davis speak from his heart.

Really guys, this could be a big gig for ya. Call the office at the evangelism department of the BGCT/TBC and they might give you some of the valley money to do this work of God. 😉
