Shake Montoya’s Hand

March 23, 2009

I recently “parasited” over to Montoya’s blog and this is his entry for March 23:

“I went to lunch today with some friends. Another person showed up. This person knows that I understand I will be spending eternity with them, but until that time I wish they would just stay away (it is almost to much temptation).

I still cannot understand how someone can be so hypocritical in seeking to shake your hand when they know you know what they are. It is pure arrogance.

Be warned, I will not shake you hand just for pleasantries. If you care to invade my space be prepared for my response (and be thankful it is a response and not an action). I will not be hypocritical for your sake, of this you may be assured.”

Well, well, well. He aint into the commonly accepted greeting among people these days.

I have a proposal. At the BGCT Convention, everyone walk up to Montoya and shake his hand. Well, at least attempt to shake his hand. It will irritate the daylights out of him!! We could find him real easy, he will be the one with his hands in his pockets all day avoiding shaking hands with people.

Here’s to seeing you at the Convention waiting to shake Montoya’s hand. Oh,by the way wash them afterwards.

The Unpardonable Sin

March 18, 2009

Every so often the “unpardonable sin” comes up in our local Baptist churches. It is the horrible sin of divorce. Why this seems to rank at the top of sins when it comes to those wanting “spiritual” positions in the church.

A small church near me has been without a pastor since December. They were looking for an interim and a nearby DOM was asked to take on that task. I don’t know this DOM real well, but what I do know of him is very positive. He is a Godly man and has served Christ faithfully. So the church asked him to fill the pulpit.

He preached one Sunday and someone got wind of the fact that he was guilty of being poisoned with the sin of divorce. Oh, my, the horror. Faster than a speeding bullit the interim was forced out in shame.

Never mind that God uses broken people for His glory. Never mind that many of our “hero” characters in the Bible were guilty of much worse and yet God used them in great and mighty ways. Never mind that God forgives and forgets.

It took one person from this particular church to have this man removed. Gee, I wonder what greivous sin this particular person in the church has that would have him dismissed from his role in the church?

It really gets my hackles up when some treat divorce like a cancer and wish to remove it as soon as possible. Oh, I know the one selected and pulled out of context verse that is typically used to “justify” ruining someone like this DOM ‘s calling from God.

Last I checked God does the calling, not us. Last I checked, His callings are without repentence. He does not withdraw His calling on our lives. He may change the direction of that calling, but it is a calling none the less.

The one person who had the “power” to push this fine man out, will face a stiff time of judgement before our Lord. We are told not to judge, that is in the Lord’s hands. And yet we Christians are very quick to judge. We throw judgment around like it is nothing and yet we hurt so many.

To the DOM that was ousted from the church. Probably just as well. If that  church treats you that poorly, they didn’t deserve you. I can’t imagine how they treat the lost, when they treat the saved so poorly.

What Happened to the Book?

March 13, 2009

David Montoya was “writing” a book and posting select portions of it on his blog. Hmm, I guess it opened up to much false accusations on his part. So David where is the “book”? Did ya give up on it?  Ya get a guilty conviction thingy?

Just wondering.

What No Apology?

March 13, 2009

Montoya sees an evil operative beyond everything the BGCT. He jumped to conclusions on the BGCT budget posting and removal. He thought they were “hiding” something. That they were withholding information from the masses to cover up something.

But alas he was wrong. But did he issue an apology? Nope. He was so quick to the gun that he shot himself in the foot and now he can’t bring himself to admit he was wrong. I guess the bullet wound is enough for him.

So now will his “followers” doubt his accusations in the future, nah. They think he is to be trusted. Why he is Montoya afterall. Why Rick Davis trust him, and that is good enough.

Never mind that Montoya attacks fellow Christians with impunity and thinks nothing of it. Never mind that he has been caught  shooting off with the mouth too many times. Yet, his followers think he is good as gold.

David, run for president and see how many votes you get? Seriously consider running up against David Lowrie, afterall you did attack him. You can dish out the criticism but ya can’t take it. When a post comes that you don’t like you block it. But you are free to post anywhere else. Hmm. Makes one wonder.

I truly think an apology is in order when you are wrong in your assessments.  And if I am wrong I will apologize right away, it is the Christian thing to do.

David Attacks David

March 6, 2009

Well what do you know, David is attacking David!! He got the president he wanted and he doesn’t kiss the gold ring of the “Great One” and now he is being attacked. David thought David would do what he wanted but alas the one David acts on his own and does not call the other David for advice.

For so long all we heard from David was how Currie et al, was “controlling” the BGCT and it’s election process. So now David got the president he so desired and now he isn’t happy with that either.

Please Montoya run for BGCT President and get elected!!! That’s what you really want isn’t? Or will you still be unhappy?

The Great Yawn

March 3, 2009

Watching Montoya and Davis pontificate back and forth is producing in me a great yawn of boredom. They deserve each other and will always hunker down in the bunker of self gratification.

If anyone disagrees with them, they are castigated and pitched into the outer darkness of irrelevance. So Jim Wade defends his brother and as he should. He knows him a whole lot better than Montoya and Davis. So they rant against him and shove him under the proverbial bus.

Montoya’s only defense is Davis, or so it seems. Oh, I’m sure there are others who will stand in his corner and  puff thier chest out in defense of Montoya’s rant. Which is what it really is a rant.  A rant that sounds more and more boring as the days go by.

So David and Rick, you’re boring and stuck in reverse. Why not look forward to the future and learn to forgive and forget? Rick I read your blog once in a while, but honestly your writing leaves me scratching my head and saying, “Does he talk and preach that way?”.  Some things you say are good and profound but then you seem to ramble on. Just expressing my opinion.

David, I enjoy your blog too, but lately am bored cause your back to your old and angry self.  It really is unbecoming.

Jim Wade, keep up the dialog. You got a blog anywhere?  Chris Leibrum, don’t let the snakes bite ya!  Dr. Everett, keep up the good work. You have more support than detractors.
