Calling All Parasites!!

February 26, 2009

Posted a response to David Montoya and it was pulled down rather quickly. I suppose the martial arts dude just couldn’t handle my critique. So Rick Davis responds with this:

“Good move to remove the other. NO ONE reads his stuff. He piggybacks over here to get readership and attention he could not get from his own work. Which, if you think about it, is the quintessential definition of a parasite.”

What I find interesting, Rick calls me a parasite ( I assume he is addressing me and maybe others), but then doesn’t he and Montoya bounce off of each others blog?

Montoya in the very least pulls quotes and comments from Rick’s blog and post them on his. Aint got a problem with that at all. But is that not also being a “parasite”?

As I have posted before, Ireally think they ought to take it on the road. Why they could start a band called “The Parasites”.

Personally don’t really care how many “hits” I get. Just like to express my opinion. But I guess in Davis/Montoya world, mine is not valid or worthy cause I don’t trash the BGCT like they do. I hold to the notion that we are to treat others as we would want to be treated, what a concept!!

Oh, I can hear it now, “But Wacky, what about how those whose money etc. was misused were treated? Don’t they count?” Sure they do, and God is the justice dealer, not man. It would be great if justice did take place in the here and now. Reality is most will not be dealt until the Lord comes back. So in the meantime, I will leave that in the Lord’s hands.

We live in a fallen world, with fallen people who will not always mete out justice as quickly or in the way we want. We can spend a lot of precious energy worrying about people getting there’s.

In the meantime, yeah, I’m gonna “troll” over to those other “God love em” blogs and read. Might try to comment, but know that unless I say what they want to read, then my response goes into netherland. But alas I can still write with freedom here.

God bless you guys!! Parasite on over here once in while, it won’t hurt to read opposing views once in a while. So troll for Jesus!!

The Economy and Harsh Criticism

February 25, 2009

When the economy is tight, we are prone to become critical of entities and how poorly they manage money. Lately the media has been attacking entities that provide large perks and benefits to upper level employees. It is seen as a waste and must be curbed, but never mind that they themselves have perks and benefits that we know nothing about. Anyway I digress.

Anyway, with that in mind. Some are starting to turn on the “attack” machine once again towards the BGCT and it’s leaders. Maybe the economy is causing many of us to become cynical of everything around us. I know I almost don’t wanna read the latest headlines for fear of more bad news. It seems to drag me down. I get more critical of leaders and question what motivates them.

Well David Montoya is writing a “tell all” type of book and he is naming names and holding nothing back. When one reads his blog, it comes across like he walks around with a sign on his back that says, “Kick me”.  But with his martial arts skills, he will kick you  back and you won’t like it one bit. Seems he is pulling his martial arts skills out in his attacks of those who have “kicked” him in the past.

In his myopic world, Charles Wade and Chris Liebrum were out to “get” him from the beginning. That they had schemed and planned to take him down by as he put it “playing the game”.  He sees everyone and everything related to the BGCT as against him.

I truly believe we need to do some belt tightening within the BGCT. The economy isn’t gonna get much better anytime soon. With that in mind maybe we should look at ways to cut spending.  We can’t do all we used to with money being an issue. Some of our pet programs may need to be cut or eliminated. Oh, I know wailing and gnashing of teeth will come with any cut or elimination.

But at the same time this does not give us license to harshly criticize those in leadership who are doing the best they can. Montoya in my view, is very harsh in his criticism of past and current leadership. Could it be he too is being harshly criticized at his own church? That some are questioning him also? Don’t know, but sometimes our own critique is due to events occuring in our own lives.

I find it hard to criticize those whom I am praying for. I pray for our leadership at the BGCT. I don’t them personally, but I know God and God put them there and I trust God. I may not agree, but God is still in control and will deal with those who abuse our trust.

Charles Wade is gone and is enjoying his retirement years. I bless God for him. Sure he made some mistakes, cause he is human. Chris Leibrum is still with the BGCT and doing a great job. I have met him several times, even went to college with him, but don’t really know him. The times I have met him, he comes across as a humble servant of the Lord.

Say, maybe if the BGCT will just give David a role in the BGCT, then he will be happy! Probably not. He is just a  unhappy person and I truly feel for him. He has his “faithful followers” and they prod him on.  I just know honey will get him further along than the bitter words that he writes.

I know with the economy turning more and more sour, criticism will rise. Even with the recent BGCT decisions, some will probably not be happy. I trust the ones elected to lead our great convention forward.

PS:   David, if you comment here on my blog, I won’t delete it. Go ahead and fire away.

The Attacks Start Again

February 24, 2009

David Montoya has every right to write what he does. But I deeply question his “need” to publish a book about his personal side of the sordid events. I noticed on his blog that he uses a lot of personal pronouns. Hmm, it guess it just shows that it is all about him.

I guess by publish he means to publish on his blog. Otherwise he couldn’t get anyone to publish his book much less read it. It would wound up as just one of those very forgetable publications we find at the thrift stores.

It must break the Father’s heart that he feels the need to attack fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. Who will benefit from his diatribe? Will it build up or tear down?

David, give it up. No one finds you credible anymore.

Here We Go Again

February 20, 2009

David Montoya has decided to write a book about his experience in dealing with the “evil” BGCT apparatus. My first thought out of the gate was, “And he is doing this because….”. Maybe to kick the dirt bucket a little further down the road. Maybe to stir the settled pot once again. Maybe he just needs to stoke his ego with this new book.

I don’t think the book has anything to do with money, aint gonna sell but a few copies to his “flock” of complainers. Rick Davis for sure will buy one or several to give away. Why they might become collectors items due to the low numbers to be printed!

Why does he wish to drag all this stuff up once again? Has he fallen off of the proverbial wagon ? Is he sniffing the “controversy” glue again? Maybe he is like a dog that has to go and smell the you know what once again. Let it go,man, just let it go. Walk away and no one gets hurt!

Sure I understand his insatuable need for justice. But isn’t that God’s department?  That part we may never see this side of Heaven. So in the meantime we move on and leave the past where it is.

What is the verse about “any man putting his hand to the blow and looking back is not fit for the kingdom of God”. Not that I am saying David is not fit for the Kingdom by any stretch. I just wonder if his “farming” is getting messed up by looking back and not looking forward. Them dogs are asleep and as they say we should let sleeping dogs lie.

Maybe he is writing this “book” to help heal from the pain of those days. I noticed in his “chapter 8″ posting of his book, that there are a ton of personal pronouns used. Not a good sign of someone who is humble. And that will not release the pain, but only make it deeper and harder to get past.

Well fire away David. But you aint gonna hit no barns with your book. All it will accomplish is to kick up a little dust and irritate some people. But hey it’s a free country for  now anyway.

Got Some New Ears!

February 3, 2009

Some of you may not be aware that when I was about four or five years old, I had chicken pox and measles at the same time. Due to the sustained high body temperature, I lost more than ninety percent of my hearing. For a number of years I went to a special school to learn how to speak and read lips. This was well before the total communication days and I was not allowed to learn sign language.

Anyway I have over the years worn two hearing aids, started with one and moved to two. Recently I had the same set of hearing aids for 14 years. The normal life span on them is about 5-7 seven years. I take very good care of my artificial ears!

Well, over the last few years my family has complained that I couldn’t hear much at all, even with the hearing aids. The hearing aid in my left ear was failing more and more. But the cost of getting hearing aids was prohibitive and being a po minister, I just couldn’t afford them. To make a long story short, I now have two new hearing aids. The state of Texas paid for them, thank all of you for paying your taxes for my cause.

The new hearing aids showed me how much more hearing I had lost. I am hearing things I have never heard before and things I don’t really wanna hear, ya know complaining church members.

The spiritual deminision of all this is that sometimes we “lose” our spiritual hearing.  We don’t listen to God as we have in the past. And then God gets ahold of us and we see and know the sins and pain we had caused. We are more in tune to God speaking to us and guiding us. Lord, give us all new ears to hear you better. With new ears, we just might hear the cries of the lost and lonely around us.
