Just a Nasty Distraction

As many already know, Otto Arango is suing the BGCT and others for libel etc. Because of his suit, the pleasant sunrise of the BGCT is about to turn cloudy and dreary. His suit could cause much pain and hurt for many people. I pray that the case will be thrown out without merit.

Ezekial 25:6,7 tells how God feels when we rejoice at the calamity of others. I am afraid some could be doing just that. There may be some people who are giving themselves fist pumps, cause they think finally God is gonna get those who are “involved” in the valley mess.  Some may even say that God is on thier side of this whole issue. Words like “vindication”, “justice” are being thrown around on some blogs.

The reality is all this does is open up some old wounds that were on the mends. Now it is just kicking dirt into the open wounds of the BGCT. Just as the healing from the past was in place, Otto has to start the bleeding process again.

I do not wish ill for Otto Arango. He and God will deal with what he has done in the valley. I do not wish ill for David Montoya either. David’s mission was noble, albeit off the chart many times. Charles Wade and the BGCT’s church starting department was on a mission to start many churches for God’s kingdom, but in the process that enthuisiasm was taken advantage of by a skunk. A skunk who continues to stink up the place.  I do not wish ill for Charles Wade either. I just want to go forward and not backwards.

God is still on His throne and He is still in control. Stuff like this has gone on in the past and it will go on in the future, but God is still God.  It doesn’t make it right, it reminds us that we live in a fallen world. I don’t know about others, but (to use Texas venacular) I aint got time for this. God aint got time for this. The lost people of our world aint got time to waste.  May God engineer the circumstances so that it goes away and we can continue on with the 2010 vision Dr. Everett has put forth.

It’s just my opinion.

BGCT, Montoya Being Sued!

I guess Otto has decided he needs to “repair” his soiled reputation. So he goes after those who supposedly ruined his career. Is anyone really surprised that he has filed this lawsuit?  Will anything become of it?

It is as Montoya has suggested, probably in some ways good that he has sued, cause it will open up all the paperwork related to this whole sordid situation.  That could be a good or a bad thing. It may be good in that Otto will be revealed for the fake that he is. It could open up some old wounds that have only recently begun to heal.

My heartfelt prayer is that it will not get in the way of the Kingdom work of the BGCT. I pray it will not cause undo damage to people and entities.

I don’t wanna rehash all the old stuff. I wanna go forward for His Glory. Remember the verse: “Any man putting his hand to plow and looking back is not fit for the Kingdom of God.” When we look back it takes our focus off of what we are about. Our “lines” will become messy and crooked in the looking behind process. Yeah, learn from our past, but we gotta be forward looking. All this lawsuit stuff may have us looking back and messing up our Kingdom focus. 

 I will encourage David Montoya to stand up against Otto. He is a charlatan of the worst kind. He is not helping God’s Kingdom. He is a user and a manipulator.  His lawsuit is sad and harmful. Can the BGCT help David with a lawyer? Just wondering. As a small church pastor, David doesn’t have the resources to hire a high dollar lawyer. Pray that God engineer the circumstances so that all this ends quickly and peacefully.
